This summer, professional skateboarders from around the world are once again preparing to “wow” Des Moines in a weekend-long festival of all things skating.

The annual Dew Tour returns to Lauridsen Skatepark, 901 Second Ave., — the nation’s largest skatepark at more than 88,000 square feet — on July 29 and 30. Sponsored by MTN DEW and in partnership with Polk County and Catch Des Moines, the skating event is in its 17th year and its second consecutive year in Des Moines. This year’s event is free to attend and open to the public.

“We are stoked to have the best skateboarding competition in the world return to Dew Moines,” said Greg Edwards, president and CEO of Catch Des Moines. “Everyone was blown away with how it turned out last year, and this year we’ll have the full Dew Tour experience with no restrictions; the caffeinated version if you will. This is a signature event for our region that demonstrates the value of having world-class venues like Lauridsen Skatepark and advocates like Polk County.”
