THE “SECRET SERIES” SKATE CONTEST

Four Grassroots Skate Contests Geared Toward Local & Midwestern Skaters

DES MOINES – Skate DSM is pleased to announce a new skateboarding contest series called the “Secret Series.”

The “Secret Series” is an all-ages, all-skill-level contest series taking place throughout 2025 at the world-class Lauridsen Skatepark. Each contest will feature a different skate obstacle designed to challenge skaters’ skill and creativity. 

The “Secret Series” is free and open to the public. Contestants will be required to pay a nominal entry fee that can be waived by taking a predetermined action that supports the local skateboarding community. 

“We are excited to announce this new contest series, which will strengthen the Des Moines skate scene by bringing our local skate community together on a regular basis. The ‘Secret Series’ will also be a great opportunity for our local skaters to get more contest experience in advance of the Des Moines Streetstyle Open,” said Norm Sterzenbach, President of Skate DSM. 

In the weeks leading up to each contest, hints will be dropped regarding which skatepark obstacle will be the focus of the contest. Final obstacles, formats, and prizing will be announced approximately two weeks prior to each contest. Be sure to follow Skate DSM on Instagram to catch all the clues.  Skaters can register on-site at Lauridsen Skatepark on the day of each event.
